Lauren McGill, LPC

I believe that building a relationship is the most important part of the therapeutic process. My goal is to provide a non-judgemental place of empathy, understanding, and collaboration to help you work through what brings you to this relationship and achieve your goals.

I received my M.A.Ed. in Counselor Education from Virginia Tech in 2013 and have spent the past eight years working in community mental health, becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2017. I have held positions in a college substance use clinic, as a crisis and in home clinician, and as a school based clinician and in these roles have worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families . I am experienced in providing support for presenting symptoms including: ADHD, anger, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, ODD, parenting, substance use, and trauma. I operate primarily from a client centered perspective and pull from cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and solution focused therapy.
