Consuella Hoston, MSW

I am a graduate from Radford University earning my Bachelor’s degree in social work in 2011.  After completing my degree, I went to work for a local community service board, and Intercept Youth Services which allowed me to explore the mental health field within social work.  I received my Master’s degree in social work in 2015 where I continued to further my career in both the mental health field and including casework in foster care.  I’m currently under supervision to receive my LCSW as I work in outpatient therapy.  My experience includes a behavioral specialist, substance use issues, in home counseling, mental health support services, school based counseling, parent coaching, case management services in foster care, and now outpatient therapy.  I have experience with anxiety disorders, oppositional defiant disorder, substance use disorders, ADD/ADHD, depressive disorders, compulsive hoarding disorder, reactive attachment disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, trauma, autism, and bipolar disorder.

I have worked with many children, adolescents, adults, and families throughout the New River Valley over my 11 years in the social work field.  My current focus is on children, adolescents, adults, and the aging population.  I have a broad range of experiences, skills, and training to assist with you reaching your goals and living the life you desire.  My therapeutic style is empowering, genuine, and judgement free.  I believe life challenges makes life interesting, but overcoming these trials makes life more meaningful.
